This week marks the start of the prestigious Red Sea Week, one of the world’s most exclusive gatherings, and Althaus Yachts is thrilled to be part of the action. Among the standout attractions this year is the iconic superyacht CHRISTINA O, brought to the event by Althaus Yachts, making a grand arrival at NEOM’s Sindalah Island from October 25th to 27th. This highly anticipated three-day event, curated by Robb Report, will host 350 of the most influential figures from across the globe.
Althaus Yachts Brings Iconic CHRISTINA O to Red Sea Week’s Elite Celebration
CHRISTINA O has a remarkable legacy, beginning as the HMCS Stormont, a Canadian naval vessel that played a vital role during WWII, including service at the historic Normandy landings. Billionaire Aristotle Onassis later acquired the frigate, investing the equivalent of $38 million today in what remains the most extensive yacht conversion in history. Onassis spared no expense, incorporating wood from Greek islands, gold fittings, and blue Syene marble, with artisans from across Europe contributing to the transformation.
Named after Onassis’ daughter, CHRISTINA O has hosted royalty, celebrities, and dignitaries over the years. Now, as she sails to the exclusive opening of Sindalah Island, she remains a symbol of timeless luxury and craftsmanship—an icon that continues to capture the imagination of the world.
